Born in 1976 in the Spanish Basque Country, Iker Valle has been developing his own distinctive body of work for over twenty years, focusing on matter, light and vibration. Exhibited in both Spain and France, his work is now held in several public and private collections.
Created using natural pigments, his paintings explore the boundaries of abstraction. In his ‘Vibrations’ series, layers of deep blues, blacks and mineral tones come together to form works in which the material appears to be in perpetual motion. Striking a balance between technical mastery and freedom of gesture, Iker Valle produces sensitive paintings that are open to individual interpretation.
His works have been acquired by the Kutxa Foundation, the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, and several Spanish public bodies. They are also held in numerous private collections across Europe, the United States, South Africa and Asia.
