Éric Liot, born in 1964 in Caen, is a French artist living and working in Paris. After studying architecture, he turned to the visual arts and became a painter, sculptor, and collage artist.
Since the 1990s, he has exhibited in France and abroad. His work is part of the narrative figuration movement, alongside artists such as Erró and Peter Klasen. He is known for his assemblages of found objects: wood, cardboard, fragments of advertisements, and comic strips, which he repurposes to create works that blend humor with a critique of consumer society. His works feature a jumble of superheroes, cartoon characters, and popular brand icons.
