artist/ Campillo

France

Murielle Campillo was born on 23 August 1966 in Isère, near Grenoble, a dynamic economic region close to nature and the mountains. Drawing is the favourite game of an introverted child. From a very early age, she experienced light as a synonym for freedom for this lover of the imaginary world.
It was in 1995 that everything came together. Her encounters with watercolour artist Martine Petiot and oil painter Claude Blanc-Brude led her to turn her dream into reality: to become a painter.
From the outset, symbolism and its many suggestions nurtured her artistic development.
Even the artist was perplexed by the round shape. This creativity leads the artist to understand the process: Socrates’ thought “know thyself” will be the key word of a beautiful encounter; the place of the spirit and creativity.
At first sight an outlet for his art, his play becomes aesthetically pleasing, creating a unique and complex universe. His early admiration for the drawing of Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo was transformed into an aesthetic of colour by the discovery of Kandinsky and his ‘Inner Necessity’.
‘Inner Necessity’. Since then, she has been experimenting with form and colour through repetitive gesture combined with intuition, in the manner of Jackson Pollock’s ‘All over’ paintings. The subtle play of vibration induced by colour encourages an encounter with light and energy.
The artist is inspired by the spiral, the dynamic form and speed par excellence, and her abstract Mandalas suggest a meeting between art and spirituality.
Today, Murielle Campillo Ouarab, with the maturity she has acquired through her creativity, offers an art form that is a manifesto of humanist and philosophical values. Her poetry is committed and compassionate towards a changing world: complex and motivating, a source of creativity par excellence. Perseverance and determination are the hallmarks of his constant, contemporary approach, to the delight of his collectors.
