artist/ Alexandre Nicolas

France

Alexandre Nicolas is a French artist born in 1970 in Toulouse, where he still lives today, but works between Paris, Limoges, Toulouse, and the Ivory Coast.
In his artistic exploration, he finds in embedding resin the ideal medium for his expression, using synthetic crystal to create figures that he floats in the resin, as if suspended in time.
Influenced by pop culture, he uses symbols that challenge the viewer’s own imagination and fantasies, thus offering a critical approach, somewhere between humor and sarcasm.
His work, of surgical precision, stands against all forms of eugenics and invites the viewer to reflect on the notions of race, nature, mutations, and power.
His work has been exhibited in numerous exhibitions around the world, notably at the “Hey!” exhibition. “Modern Art & Pop Culture” at the Halle Saint Pierre in Paris, at the Shenzhen International Ink Art Biennale at the Shenzhen Fine Art Institute in China, in London as part of a series dedicated to the world of video games for Warner Bros. L.A. USA, in Moscow as part of Cosmoscow Art Fair, and recently at the National Etruscan Museum in Rome, Italy.
