Death NYC is a contemporary street artist born in 1979 in New York.
She chooses to remain anonymous in order to preserve the freedom that is essential to her street art practice. Her pseudonym, “DEATH”, stands for “Don’t Easily Abandon The Hope”, a powerful message of resilience and optimism.

Born and raised in New York’s cultural melting pot, she began her artistic journey by painting on the floors and walls of stores in Soho and Chelsea. Her style is marked by colorful, satirical compositions that blend pop culture icons—such as Marilyn Monroe, Barack Obama, and Mickey Mouse—with art history references, including Warhol’s soup cans and Jeff Koons’ balloon sculptures. Through these striking juxtapositions, she critiques consumerism and celebrity worship.

Recognized internationally, Death NYC has exhibited in numerous galleries, and her works—often limited-edition prints—are highly sought after for their bold visual language and critical edge. By combining humor with social commentary, she invites viewers to reflect on contemporary norms and the pervasive influence of mass media.
