Pretige Exhibition by Le Musée de Grenoble
Le Musée de Grenoble is exhibiting the models of the artwork Eleven Variations on The Raft of the Medusa or the Drift of Consumer Society. The Malassis Cooperative (1970–1978), founded by five French painters (Henri Cueco, Lucien Fleury, Jean-Claude Latil, Michel Parré, and Gérard Tisserand), created engaged, collective works. In 1974, the city of Grenoble commissioned them to create a mural for the Grand’Place shopping center. This work reinterprets Géricault’s painting to criticize contemporary society. Blending artistic references, tourism, and consumer goods, it sparked intense debate before being covered up in 2000, largely unnoticed.

Discovering New Talents
Contemporary art reveals itself through the works of artists who express their perspective on the world around them. In the Revelation exhibition, these paintings, sculptures, and other unique pieces reflect personality and tell a story—a vision of the world. Whether minimalist, playful, or figurative; refined or vibrant; inspired by human nature or travel… the artworks emerge from the creative drive of artists from near and far. With a desire to uncover new talent, we invite you to explore works full of promise.
From the psychedelic wooden figures of Cynthia Barthelme, to the humans united by belief in the colorful digital paintings of Taejune Ryu, or the tension and duality in the materials—like wool, concrete, or hubcaps—used by Léa Montlouvet, each of these young graduates from the École Supérieure d’Art d’Annecy conveys a desire, a committed idea that resonates with us.
Let’s discover these bold, powerful, and unique works together!
