A word from the artistic director
“Grenoble Art Up! is a contemporary art fair dedicated to contemporary artistic creation in all its forms, from painting to digital art, photography and decorative arts. It will be particularly open to young creation, the international scene and the visual arts in a region renowned for its art and design schools.
The fair aims to be a unifying event under the prism of living art, by ensuring the quality of the galleries’ offer and by establishing partnerships with cultural operators in the Rhône-Alpes region. It will be an open and creative space where galleries, artists and the public can share a taste for human and artistic adventure”.
Marie-Françoise Bouttemy – Artistic Director of Grenoble Art Up!
ALPEXPO, a site classified Outstanding Contemporary Architecture
Built for the Olympic Games in Grenoble in 1968, the exhibition centre is a technological and architectural feat. The buildings were built by architects Jean and Claude Prouvé, assisted by Serge Binotto and engineers Léon Pétroff and Louis Fruitet.
Alpes Congrès with its stairs and its exceptional luminosity and the Summum with its unique metal frame are all part of the same architectural elegance.
Grenoble, a privileged artistic destination
At the crossroads of France, Switzerland and Italy, it enjoys a privileged location in the heart of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, one of the most prosperous and dynamic in Europe where the place of artistic creation is central.

The city hosts 15 museums including Le Magasin – Centre National d’Art Contemporain (CNAC) and the School of Fine Arts (ESAD).
Street-art culture also has a strong place with more than 115 frescoes painted in the metropolis as part of the Grenoble Street Art Fest.
The artistic direction
The artistic direction of Grenoble Art Up! studies each gallery's application on the basis of an iconographic file presenting the selection of works that the gallery owner wishes to exhibit during the fair.
