Jacky de la Sarthe, originally from Le Mans, is primarily a collector of contemporary art. He has amassed a collection of works by around fifty artists, including 270 paintings, drawings, sculptures, ceramics, engravings, furniture, and other forms of expression.
He has been involved in artistic creation since the age of eight. At the age of 15, he set up his first studio gallery space in the Sarthe department. Later, he opened a second Design d’Architecture gallery in an apartment in Grenoble, and a third gallery at the entrance to the Uriage les Bains spa in Isère. In 2018, he established a ‘Cabinet de Curiosité Contemporain’ in the spa and tourist town of Aix les Bains in Savoie. The purpose of this establishment was to move away from the showcase gallery. The ‘Cabinet de Curiosité Contemporain’ is open by appointment only to artists, professional actors, designers of artistic and cultural projects, and contemporary art collectors who follow artists.
The company is currently working on assisting artists with publishing and exhibition projects. Additionally, they are in the process of conceptualising a contemporary art biennial that will focus on monumental art and Land art installations.
