Xiaojun SONG belongs to the generation born of the one-child policy that began in China in the 1980s. This is where she grew up until the age of 24. After studying at the Hubei School of Fine Arts in Wuhan (China), she came to France to continue her art studies at the École nationale supérieure d’art et de design de Nancy, from which she graduated in 2012. She is now based in France, near Lyon. She is represented by Galerie Françoise Besson (Lyon 1er).

Black and white, full and empty, visible and invisible. Her work focuses on constant research into their relationships and compositions. The use of different modes and themes of representation enables her to exhibit a wide range of emotions, all of which can be related to the theme of the Body and Nature. According to Lao Tzu, “the Way is the path to Virtue. As an object, the Way is absolutely vague and indefinite, but within this indeterminacy it possesses a certain form and reality”. In his work, the existing and the non-existent coexist in an infinite dialectic.
