artist/ POLA 4.0
FRANCE
Pola 4.0 is a young, self-taught, world-famous artist from Lille. Her pseudonym Pola 4.0 is a nod to the famous Polaroid format, which marked her childhood, but also carries a more personal meaning that she keeps secret.
Pola 4.0 sees her artistic approach as the imagery of what she calls her “emotional labyrinth”. His eclectic subjects, which are sometimes even completely opposed, actually reflect his insatiable questioning of existence. With a barely disguised ambivalence, Pola 4.0 sees above all in her approach and her deep motivations a flexibility of mind, or a questioning, which according to her is a major asset in a complex, changing and uncertain world. She strives to challenge the viewer, seeks his gaze, raises his own questions, but always in a subtle way, without ever trying to give a lesson. Eager to understand the world around her but also the human in the singular, she pursues her quest relentlessly, with only her own emotions as a filter.
While her creations favour an appropriate use of aluminium or plexiglass, or even wood, she refuses to be locked into a particular artistic category, or to impose limits on the form of her expression.
Its iconography brings us closer to a sweet cinematic nostalgia from across the Atlantic, to beautiful icons of fashion and motorsport, as well as to the equally delightful curves of the bodies of legendary “sports cars”.
