Luc Dratwa was born in 1958 and currently lives and works in Brussels, Belgium.

Self-taught, he worked as editor-in-chief for the design and architecture magazine “Domino”; from a very early age he displayed a passion for the arts.
At first he was attracted to painting, but subsequently turned to photography, which quickly proved to be his preferred artistic medium.
Painting taught him the importance of colours and the graphical quality of composition.
For him, a photograph reveals the photographer.

Luc Dratwa waited many years before taking the plunge, when he finally felt he was close to achieving the necessary rigour and perfection which he had sought for so long.
His career as a photographer was born.

All the subjects he explores are primarily a narrative transcribed on to photographic paper.
Since 2008, the city, and New York in particular, has been his favourite theme. Its multi-faceted qualities endlessly possible interpretations, from shot to shot, from creative imagination to paper.
His vision of things is not limited to the click of a shutter; Luc Dratwa attaches great importance to the need of thinking about his work in totality. Every detail is carefully considered and planned by him from the locations, where nothing is left to chance. A palpable perfectionism in each of his creations, where nothing is left to chance.

From Paris to Bangkok, via New York, Amsterdam and even Singapore, Luc Dratwa is now represented in several galleries.

He has also taken part in prestigious contemporary art fairs, including Art Paris, Art Lille and Art India, where he enjoyed great success.
