After graduating from the Institut d’études politiques de Paris at the age of 20, Marine Joatton turned to artistic creation. In 1995 she began a degree course at the Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, Scotland. She was admitted to the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris (Ensb-a) in 1997, where she studied with Joël Kermarrec, Erik Dietman and Giuseppe Penone. She graduated in 2001 and had her first solo exhibitions in 2004. “This dual training has forged a surprisingly well-balanced personality, in which the rational and the irrational, the deductive and the intuitive, are blended in equal measure1.
