France

Yannick Germain was born in Auray, Brittany, in 1959.

He lives and works in Belle-Île-en-Mer.

Born into a family of seafarers, landlubbers and travellers who continue to inspire him to this day, he grew up far from the world of art.

In 1984 he was spotted by Guillaume Met of Penninghen, who accepted him into his academy free of charge.

At the end of this course, he produced architectural models for national museums.

He then decided to devote himself to painting and moved to Belle-Île-en-Mer to carry out his pictorial and philosophical research far from the world.

His preferred mediums are oil for painting and clay for sculpture.

At the same time, he illustrated and wrote four successful books with his muse and partner.

In 1998 he was listed in the Bénézit.

In 2005 he was awarded the silver medal at the Salon de la Marine in Paris.

Jean Gabriel Mitterrand describes his work as Modern Art.

“The only thing that matters is what emanates from it”.
