Stéphane Charpentier presents introspective, existential photography in black-and-white silver, taking care of all stages of production
from manual development to the creation of darkroom prints. He has held numerous exhibitions over the past
in France and abroad, and he also shows his work in books, photographic films and image and sound

Stéphane Charpentier devoted himself fully to his artistic practice in 2003, after working as the image director of a label
label Emi Music France. He studied at the Efti School of Photography in Madrid, and has since lived in Paris, Lyon,
Toulouse, and New York, where he assisted photographer Jean-Christian Bourcart. He lives and works mainly in Athens from 2012 to 2020,
during which time he publishes the book The Core with Void in 2015, and builds his series The Eclipse, whose monograph will be published
published by Sun/Sun in 2022. He is also featured in the collective books Mono published by Gomma and Eyes Wild Open by éditions
André Frère.
He regularly supervises photography workshops (art centers, art schools, social centers, etc.).
He also produces short art films, music videos and sound recordings. He regularly collaborates
with musicians, and for two years participated in the creation of the Oiseaux-Tempête collective, a project combining music and images,
The eponymous debut album, released by Sub Rosa, and the self-produced film The divided line were also conceived in Greece.
He curates, organizes and edits the Temps Zero collective projects, which bring together acclaimed visual and sound artists:
exhibitions, photographic projections and musical performances produced in various European countries since 2013.
