Born in 1983 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. Aboudia lives and works between Abidjan and Brooklyn.
A graduate of the Centre Technique des Arts Appliqués in Bingerville, Aboudia’s work was widely reported in the international press in 2011 for its account of the fighting during the Ivorian crisis of 2010-2011.
Aboudia is inspired by the graffiti drawn by young people on the walls in the streets of Abidjan, particularly the working-class districts of Abobo, Yopougon and Treichville. Aboudia examines everyday life in Côte d’Ivoire, paying particular attention to its history of conflict. In the first series, his work has a biographical and even protest content.
