artist/ Ouaki
France

Thaïva Ouaki’s artistic approach revolves around the issue of freedom. Her practice questions pre-established patterns, devices and the idea of norms, in particular by taking over places in transition to analyse their symbolic, poetic or political potential.
His artistic proposals combine different practices, including collecting, reusing and diverting. The use of space and scenographic aspects also play an important part in her thinking.
Currently an artist-researcher, her thesis focuses on a former maritime quarantine station in Holland. This work, conducted in the form of an investigation, combines historical narrative and visual production.
Her work as an exhibition curator has led her to take an interest in the issue of selection and the telling of stories about works of art and objects that she did not create herself.
