Yann-Eric Eichenberger, born in 1974, lives and works in the south of France.
He draws his inspiration from his passion for the trees that grow in the hills of Provence, and has been working in wood for over twenty years, in search of his “Plant Double”.
Many of his works are then entrusted to art foundries to create original works in mirror-polished bronze. Interior formats as well as monumental pieces.
“Convinced of the profound aesthetics contained in the personality of each tree, I penetrate the curves of the wood to discover the ever-new image of the human being, finally reconciled with himself in his plant double.
The character lines of these trees fixed in bronze become fossil traces, a blend of Colonial Being and a sense of Immortality.
On a daily basis, the elevation of the planes, always pushed to the extreme, leads me towards monumental ascension, in search of the giants, the mothers of the Earth and of Man.”
