Born in 1968, Emmanuel Pons lives and works in Normandy. He was awarded the Silver Medal of the City of Paris for his body of work. In both painting and writing, Emmanuel Pons begins with the subject. Sometimes barely visible in the work, merely hinted at in the narrative, the subject remains its source. This is why the artist-author founded ideal abstraction. “Scattered, harsh, and taut, dazzling and sacrificial, these subtle signs of art, in a stunning act of letting go, disrupt the expanse. They are small, separate, feverish islands\u2014uninhabitable and detached from reality, allusive and healing\u2014all born of inner surges.
