Born in 1963 in Zhejiang Province, China, the painter YE Xing Qian has been painting since he was very young and, like all his peers, trained by copying the old masters. At the age of 19, he emigrated to France and exhibited in Paris for the first time at the 37th \u201cJeune Peinture, Jeune Expression\u201d exhibition: his style had changed radically; he still paints with Chinese ink on bamboo paper, but his works have moved away from the motifs of classical Chinese painting. From absolute black through a thousand shades of gray, Xing Qian\u2019s brush brings to life dreamlike landscapes that gradually take on color. His exhibitions became increasingly frequent; Xing Qian\u2019s painting had entered the realm of abstraction.<\/p>\n
Gradually, YE Xing Qian has gained recognition in China, where he exhibits at prestigious venues. In 2008, one of his paintings was featured on a postage stamp. His works are held in several museums, and he is frequently invited to exhibit his watercolors and oil paintings on canvas.<\/p>\n
In 2018, five watercolors were added to the permanent collection of the Guimet Museum in Paris.<\/p>\n
In 2021, a beautiful ink-on-canvas work was added to the collection of the Cernuschi Museum.<\/p>\n
He lives and works in Montreuil, near Paris.
\nIn 2008, he founded a French contemporary art association called \u201cMille \u00e9toiles.\u201d He explains: \u201cDrawing on my dual Chinese and French cultural background, I wanted to foster exchanges between French artists and China.\u201d Ye Xing Qian is convinced that he can help young Chinese artists in China mature\u2014artists who are overly constrained by conservative teachers and lack any sense of the artistic value of paintings.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":682,"featured_media":19126,"template":"","taxo_year_participe":[123],"class_list":["post-19125","artist","type-artist","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"yoast_head":"\n
