Andr\u00e9 Marfaing s\u2019est d\u2019abord destin\u00e9 \u00e0 une carri\u00e8re juridique avant de se tourner vers la peinture, sa v\u00e9ritable vocation. Install\u00e9 \u00e0 Paris dans les ann\u00e9es 1950, il se rapproche rapidement des cercles d\u2019artistes abstraits, ce qui influencera durablement son travail. Marfaing d\u00e9veloppe un style qui transcende les modes et les tendances. S\u2019il s\u2019inscrit dans l\u2019abstraction lyrique, il s\u2019en d\u00e9tache par une rigueur et une profondeur introspective rarement \u00e9gal\u00e9es. Travaillant principalement \u00e0 l\u2019huile et \u00e0 l\u2019encre de Chine, il s\u2019attache \u00e0 cr\u00e9er des compositions o\u00f9 le noir devient une couleur pleine de lumi\u00e8re, un vecteur d\u2019\u00e9motions universelles.<\/p>\n
