Franco-Brazilian photographic artist Giandra de Castro has been exploring water at every scale – regional, national, international- since 2019. Her work, exhibited in over 10 countries, moves fluidly between naturalist festivals and contemporary art venues. At first glance, it looks like painting – impressionist, expressionist, surrealist, abstract… And yet, it is raw photography, unedited: a direct encounter with the optical, pictorial, poetic, and philosophical properties of water. \u201cWater is my Muse, but also my artist: I collect its most beautiful creations along the shores of lakes, seas, and rivers.\u201d This ode to the ephemeral and the unnoticed unfolds in long timeframes, site fidelity, sensory slowness.
